Fizik Antares 00 Carbon Braided Wing Flex Road Saddle is fi'zi:k's lightest saddle, weighing only 135 grams. The Antaress 00 is the newest addition to the fi'zi:k road range, embodying all the essential fi'zi:k elements: comfort, flexibility, and incredible lightness. The saddle has a Rilsan Carbon Reinforced Shell, the Integrated Clip System, and a carbon braided rail. Allowing Fizik to create this extremely light road saddle was a new sandwiched carbon shell (a layer of foam sandwiched between slices of carbon “bread”) that incorporates a variation of Wing Flex. The Wing Flex construction allows free thigh movements, regardless of the rider's position, along the saddle. This saddle is the first sandwich carbon saddle shell in the industry, and it provides additional stiffness. The Antres 00’s Wing Flex properties will conform to an individual rider, but the saddle needs a few hundred kilometers to break in. The end result is a saddle with stats no one can match: 171cm cube of padding; 190cm square of seating surface; while weighing just 135 grams. Part 2 we will see..., Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Fi'zi:k Antares 00 Carbon Braided Saddle (Misc.) Part 1This seat is lighter than some seat post clamps. It is a beauty, too. However, it is no comfort queen. This was expected. Hopefully, as I ramp up the mileage in the spring, my butt will toughen up. On the other hand, I've always have had good luck with flites -- which are not exactly spring supported brooks. Where flites tend to be narrow, almost hatchet like, this seat has a very flat top, so your sit bones are going to ride on top of it rather than snugging down. For just a few grams more and a several dollars less, you can get a more comfortable seat, and as comfort has a big impact on efficiency & performance, that might be a smarter choice. The real measure of this seat will be on the back side of a century. I will re-post further into the season. In the meantime, for weight and star wars styling... this seat is very cool.
