The "bottom line" is that on this saddle, the pressure of your body weight presses down through your sit bones into this saddle, not through the perineum, which is where other saddles create pressure, and which is ***guaranteed*** to cut off circulation and leads to loss of sensation and blood flow to certain delicate areas. Ignore all the old-school cyclists telling you from inside the box that any saddle with a horn won't hurt you. They're in denial, seriously.I use this saddle on a "vintage," sporty steel road bike (a very demanding ride), and I have had NO problems with the saddle. Essentially, you press your weight backwards instead of down, so tilt the seat down, and place it right where your sit bones will make contact. While learning, I did try the old thigh-grabbing I'd been used to, but having used the ergonomic seat for a year now, I don't even notice that the seat requires backward pressure on the sitbones instead of downward pressure on the crotch... I believe this has been said already, but I'll reiterate: this will hurt you badly if you don't have it adjusted correctly. I bruised my bum so bad I couldn't ride for a few days.It's quite firm and I'm not convinced it's really leather, even though it is advertised as such. However, one adjusted properly I dig it. It doesn't bother my boys. The shape just makes sense. Works great when used correctly. Use it wrong and it will hurt. When it was installed i tried riding it and it was very uncomfortable but i thought I'd stick with it and after about a week it is the most comfortable seat I've ever used. When they say it eliminates the pressure from the perineum area. It's 100% true after a week with this seat no numbness just a soft, cool looking ride. |
