Brooks Saddles B72 was first featured in the 1935 catalogue. It is a light weight touring saddle with unique loop springs incorporated within the saddle, one of the first suspension systems patented by J.B. Brooks back at the end of the 1800's.These saddles are meant for an altogether more leisurely type of cycling. With the great majority of the weight being supported by the rear quarter, the rear part of the saddle needs to be wider. The black leather saddle features tubular steel rivets, and weighs 690 grams.

So I did a bit of research and learned about "Sit Bones" and the proper posture for riding. I'm pleased to announce that I am happy with my choice of saddles. My only negative comment is that this saddle is designed for a circular post (like the bikes of yester-year) and not the two pieced bracket that the more modern bikes have. I was able to remove their post clamp and connect straight to the support assembly. I looked on the Brooks web-site and didn't find an adapter to correct this problem. Another positive point is that the saddle doesn't generate as much heat as the cushioned saddle and if you peddle hundreds of miles a month as I do; you will appreciate it too. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful  Long time recreational rider, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Brooks B72 City/Touring Bicycle Saddle (Sports) After trying many "comfort" saddles it was such a pleasant surprise to get this saddle.
