I LOVED the look of this saddle, but after a few rides I realized it WAS NOT for me. Frankly, the center channel is not for every rider, and that was the case for me. Half hour rides equaled to the soreness of 5 hour rides. I continue my hunt for a perfect saddle...... :/  awesome! so glad fizik added the center channel!, This review is from: Fizik 2012 Arione Versus Road Bicycle Saddle w/K:ium Rails (Misc.) i hated the specialized avatar saddle that came on my roubaix expert - it flexed way too much (i'm north of 210 lbs.) and put too much pressure underneath. compared to that, my next saddle (a fizik aliante carbon) was much more comfortable, but it was too sloped for me (only one good riding position) and i was still having pressure problems, especially in the drops (that "flex channel" in the middle never really flexed enough, if at all). it was getting to the point where i didn't have that same passion for riding anymore and i wasn't going out as much.so i bought this the other day hoping it might give me more riding positions and/or help with the pressure problem. it solved both problems and made my first ride the best one i've ever taken on my bike! lots of saddles can feel good for the first couple of miles, but even after 25 it was still going strong no matter what riding position i was in. i was more comfortable in the drops than i ever have been, which was good... I had the Fizik arione for about 4 months before getting the VS. the original Arione worked very well for me except for some pressure issues down the middle of the saddle. I was getting some numbness on longer rides, and was wishing for some relief down the middle of the saddle. I decided to try the Vs. arione and it relieved the pressure issues. I have ridden about 200 miles on the Vs. so far and I am super happy with it. The channel down the middle of the saddle did the trick and I am able to ride all day with no issues. I also like the length of this saddle, it allows me to utilize different positions depending on the terrain: Climbs, sprints, etc. If you currently have the arione and are having some pressure issues the arione vs. is the way to go! |
