The Selle SMP Strike Stratos saddle is designed from extensive studies conducted which analyzed the different positions assumed by a cyclist in the various phases of a ride and the constant interaction between the body and the saddle. Based on these findings, Selle SMP designed the STRIKE saddle which prevents the cyclist's sensitive areas from getting squashed and increases the blood flow to the leg muscles. Selle SMP makes the saddle in Italy. The central channel of the saddle varies in width to contour the body and allow continuous circulation of blood flow. The front section of the saddle with its beak-shaped design offers excellent support when pedaling hard and prevents your sensitive area from getting squashed in the process. The design of the outer mid-section is shaped to follow your thigh muscles to maximize blood circulation and pedaling power. The overall weight of the rider is distributed throughout the saddle to offer comfort without sacrificing performance. This allows you to exert more power while in the saddle and ride longer more comfortably. The Selle SMP Strike Stratos saddle keeps the same design of the patented STRIKE saddle but at a smaller size and at a lighter weight. This presents the ideal saddle for racing and for long rides. I don't typically write reviews on Amazon, but this is such an amazing saddle that I felt I should in this case. I have a Pinarello Prince and went through Koobi (cut-out not wide enough), Cobb (saddle too narrow overall), and Specialized (cut-out not side enough and nose put too much pressure, even in normal riding) saddles prior to this one. I am 33 and have only been riding about a year, but if I had not been able to find a saddle like this one, which puts all weight directly on my sit bones, I probably would have quit riding. This is not a cheap saddle, but the consequences of not finding a saddle with proper sit bone support are quite severe (esp over long term). I do not have any financial affiliation with the company (and don't know the people behind it), but just want to ensure others benefit from this awesome saddle.
