Finally I can get that "saddle that you don't feel" effect while riding. It replaced the stock SSM Ponza that came on my road bike which I thought was an ok saddle, but only after the upgrade I realized how much unneeded suffering I endured. The Max is a bit, well, fat so if you're after the sporty looks you may not find the appearance overly satisfying. Aesthetically, however, the size doesn't bother me much considering I now enjoy riding more and can go further. Functionally, I don't find the size getting in the way in situations when, say, you need to quickly get out of the saddle to tackle that climb and then put you butt back where it was. After one long ride, there was no pain or tenderness to be found. I put this saddle on my mtb. Also, I am a 6'1'' 230 # rider. this is the fifth saddle i tried including three specialized, and a Koobi AU Enduro. My search is over for now. Hopefully the saddle will hold up for the long term as there have been some reviews regarding its durability for larger riders.This saddle is hard despite having gel. Your sit bones will be in pain if you are not used to sitting on similar saddles. if this is the case, i recommend several shorter distance rides to condition you sit bones for the saddle. afterward, i will become nearly unnoticeable. |
